Well, nothing new or shocking here. People drive like a$$holes. I am posting about this because I feel that it is getting worse. Yes, I know. More "Old Man" talk. But seriously, people are crazy.
There have been five instances in the last two weeks where if I was not paying attention, (and expecting a driver to make the wrong decision,) I would have been in an accident. Whether it is not knowing how to manage a traffic circle or being confused about who goes first at a four-way stop, (spoiler alert...it doesn't freaking matter unless you get there at the same time!,) people just don't know the rules or don't care. I figure it is more toward the latter.
Three days ago I saw a person pass someone on the left shoulder of I-81. They were driving like a manic and weaving in and out of traffic in a construction zone with uneven lanes, decided they didn't want to wait any more and whipped it onto the gravel covered shoulder to pass a car right before the shoulder ended. Five minutes later they were 20 seconds in front of me. Worth it? I think not. Don't take me with you when you go up in a fiery blaze, dude.
I am not pretending that I am some perfect driver at all. But, I care about my life and the lives of everyone around me on the road. More than I can say for some...
